Title : Twin Rays
Media : Public Installation with Telescope and Realtime/Recorded Images
Images are produced all the time. They were appreciated privately, but then shared, copied, mass manufactured, and now saved as data. We use images to imitate reality as representation, and then create our own realities. Telescoped vision expands realities by compressing space; while visual digitalization preserves and reproduces realities by compressing time. This work, “Twin Rays”, invites the audience to observe actors standing at distant locations via telescopes. It is indeed a mixture of real-time and saved images. Multiple versions of reality are being overlapped as montage, to the extent of losing the original, as well as losing our faith.
